So today Aubrey and I stopped by Babies R' Us. At the front of the store was a big display for a "Toys for Tots" program with a life-size cutout of Shaq and two overly enthusiastic children posing on it. ( Side note: Has anyone ever googled pictures for Shaq? Probably not...but you get awesome things like this and this and this!)
While we are standing in the checkout line I feel a little tug on my jeans. Aubrey motions down for me and then in a hushed tone begins this conversation...
Aubrey: Mommy?
Me: Yes, sweetie?
Aubrey: It's a GIANT! ( pointing to the Shaq cutout with eyes the size of dinner plates).
Me: Chuckle to self and then say, Yes, that's Shaq, he is very tall.
Aubrey: Mommy, I scared of the giant.
Me: You don't need to be scared, it's not real.
Aubrey: Ok! I say hi to the giant. HI GIANT!
So apparently we're good friends with Shaq now... : )
Also she has a habit of not looking where she's going and bumped right into a display post in the store, to which she very quickly apologized and said, " 'scuse me wall. " and went on her merry distracted way. At least you can't say she isn't polite!
That is very cute. Shaq is not a scary giant he is just a big man who is not as good at basketball as he used to be is all.
ReplyDeletehaha, i love that she apologized to the wall. so cute!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't imagine how nice it would be to let Logan walk along beside me. Right now I'm still trying to stuff him into the cart seat and I like to have a bag of treats or not go shopping until Kevin can go with me, just so I can concentrate on what I'm trying to buy.
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry Amber, we have those days too! I'm sure it's much more complicated shopping with two though, right?
