We had a wonderful taste of spring yesterday. Temperatures have been warming up for a while now (except for that freak snow storm one day last week!) and today was the best of all. We almost hit 80 degrees and the kids and I had a fabulous time enjoying our St. Patrick's Day weather.
As a matter of fact this is a picture of St. Patrick's Day '09 I found...and as you can tell by what Aubrey is wearing it was pretty warm that day too.

I love the short winters here. We didn't get our first snow until the middle of January and seems we're nearing the end here in the middle of March.
Today was one of the rare days where things went according to plan. I wrote out all of our errands as usual but today we actually did them all and everything went pretty smoothly. We went by Target to pick up the pictures we're sending out with Asher's birthday invitations (which of course I'm late sending out) and then we went by the park close to our house.

It started getting a little windy so I got a lot of these "closed eye" smiles
It was overcast but it made it perfect and even made the air pretty humid. Aahhh...humidity...how I've missed you. ( I won't be saying this in July)
It was a lot of fun and even Asher joined in on the swings. He is sure crawling everywhere. He loves to fast-walk whenever someone holds his hands...he'll just take off! I'm sure it won't be long before he'll be climbing all over everything with Aubrey. Aubrey loves the social part even more than the playing though I think. She seeks out whatever kids she can find and makes them her instant "best friends". The swings and slide are a close second though.
We came home and Asher went down for a nap (just like we planned) and Aubrey and I spent the rest of the afternoon outside finding rocks, playing "mommy", coloring chalk pictures, and exploring all the new daffodils blooming in our yard.
Speaking of... this little beauty decided to be the first to bloom yesterday. What a dose of sunshine, and the others aren't far behind. Tulips, grape hyacinths, and sunny daffodils...I can't wait to see you all! : )

ReplyDeleteoh wow! Asher is getting so grown up! He is stinkin' cute. I think I've noticed more similarities between him and Aubrey as he's gotten older. you've got some adorable kiddos :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so incredibly jealous of your almost 80 spring day! I still don't feel like it's spring here, though I have seen a few flowers popping up around town. It's just too cold! I'm very much missing my florida winter/spring temperatures :(
Asher is SO big!! I'm soooooo excited to see you guys in about a week! I think Aubrey and Logan will have so much fun...Logan always makes new "best friends", too.
